GILMORE AUCTION SPONSORS SUCCESSFUL “HOTTER THAN HELL” RACE MD MARATHON

NEW ORLEANS, LA –JULY 2, 2012 Gilmore Auction is proud to have sponsored the 10th Annual Hotter Than Hell marathon held at Audubon Park in New Orleans, Sunday, July 1st.

One Hundred runners braved the New Orleans summer heat and humidity to run, jog, walk and bike the 26.2 mile course. The very informal race, based on the honor system, allowed runners to start as early as midnight, count their own laps and finish as late as 9am, or before the jambalaya pot was empty!

Since 2010, the donations generated from the race have been dedicated to RaceMD, which helps boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This year’s Hotter Than Hell raised over $7,000 for RaceMD.com

The Hotter Than Hell marathon was founded in 2001 by six runners, including Randy Thibodaux and Francis Braud, as a way to train for a September marathon and possibly avoid the New Orleans summer heat.

Next year’s 11th Annual Hotter Than Hell race is scheduled for Sunday, July 7th
